China Ministry of Finance (Mof ) & China National Accounting Institute (NAI)

Brief

As a nation, management accountancy is not embraced in China like it is in the West. We were asked to explain how management accounting can help in business analysis and the role a management accountant could take in leading strategy formulation, validation and execution in China going forward.

Outcome

We developed a program over 5 days which was attended by some of the most senior government officials and academic experts from China. With the help of some great translators we were able to deliver an interactive and fun program which showed the key finance decisions that could be used to support business strategy and also the role played by cost and management accounting in strategic planning and decision making. We also looked at how the role of management accounting was evolving due to automation and the traits associated with becoming a better finance business partner
